President Barak Obama at the New Ford Stamping plant in Liberty Missouri. While at the plant President Obama emphasized the importance of raising the debt ceiling to allow the government to pay it's bills. Also he stated that "We bet on the American Worker, we bet on you and now that bet is paying off, you have trouble making enough vehicles fast enough". Ford announced a $ Billion expansion at its Kansas City Assembly Plant in 2011 that included construction of a new, integrated stamping plant in Liberty. Earlies this year, Ford said it was adding a third shift and 900 jobs because of demand for its trucks. THe company, which received a state incentive package, also said it is adding 1,100 workers to prepare for introduction of a new full-size van.
