Exploring the Gullah Culture presentations at Boone Hall Plantation near Charleston, SC, explores black African slave life.

"Slave Street" has preserved 9 of the original 27 slave cabins that are now on the National Register of Historic Places. They were home to the skilled slaves that provided the services that supported the Plantation. Artifacts from the slave cabins are on display. Every one of the remaining slave quarters is open to the public, each having its own exhibits based on a time or different aspect of the Gullah culture; things like quilting, worship, work expectations as a slave, or basket weaving. Boone Hall Plantation in , SC (a suburb of nearby Charleston), is one of the oldest working plantations in North America. It boasts over 730 acres of naturally preserved wet lands and farm lands and over 300 years of history and is considered America's most photographed plantation and one of its most popular historic sites.
