Fossil cycadeoid plant. This extinct seed plant had a short stocky trunk with a pinnate (feather-like) leaf arrangement. It was found from the Triassic to Cretaceous periods (250 to 70 million years ago). This fossil is from the Apennine mountains, Italy, and measures 82 centimetres tall.
