The Indians round about were questioned,but they all declared they did not the men did not return to Carolina ;and so the fate of these four men is stilla THE COMING OF BOONES BROTHER. Boone and Stuart were now all alone inthe deep forests. They had very littleammunition, and they knew there was dan-ger on every side. They built a log cabin for themselvesand plastered it over with mud. This plas-ter kept out the rain and snow. And, besides,the men could conceal themselves better inmud huts in case of attack from the red men. For a long time the two men livedhere alone.
