Raised by Mr. Burr, Columbus, Ohio. Vines moderately vigorous, productive ; flowers pistillate. Fruit, medium, regular, roundishrconical ; colour light crimson. Flesh tender, juicy, with a sweet, rich, aromatic flavour. This fine early variety is suited for the amateur and family use (the: surface being too tender fof markfet purpose). It requires high cultivation and good care; with such treatment, the grower is well paid. It is rather tender in many localities; extremes of heat and cold affect it. Crimson Cone. Scotch Pine Apple.
