Miners dispute against pay cuts of 1892


Cartoon from an original Punch or the Magazine 12 March 1892 by John Tenniel (1820-1914). Referencing the Federation of Miners action against pay cuts. The federation said they were not on strike, but taking a spring holiday and went on to decide one day in each week would be a play day. Every pit in Nottinghamshire stood idle on Saturday's from April to August.
