The Sun Inn in Bilsdale valley Build in 1914 to replace the old Sun Inn located in the nearby Spout gravestone is that of Bobbie Dowson, a local huntsman and a cricketer in the Spout House team, who died in 1902. The local vicar refused to have the headstone in the graveyard because of the hunting motifs carved into it. A cricket match was reported to have taken place on the sloping field next door in December 1842 and where cricket was still played until recently by the Spout House York Moors.
