Forearm muscle. Computer artwork of a human arm, showing the brachioradialis muscle (red) of the forearm, and its attachments to the bones of the arm. This muscle originates from the lateral supracondylar ridge of the humerus (upper arm bone) and attaches to the lower end of the radius (the smaller of the two lower arm bones). This muscle flexes (bends) the forearm about the elbow. The other lower arm bone is the ulna. Also shown are the bones and ligaments (white) of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. Cartilage is also visible in the elbow and shoulder joints. The clavicle and scapula are at top.
