Giant Manta Ray / Oceanic Manta Ray (Manta birostris) This large individual got attracted to the plankton buildup under the lights of our boat. where it spent more than one hour feeding, and getting increasingly close to us as it swam by., performing the characteristic "barrel rolls" whilst feeding. The ghoslty green colour of the water is caused by the lagoon water and by the plankton accumulation. Kurali, Meemu Atoll, Maldives
