A sec-tion of the track representing the electrically-welded joints is shown in Fig. 2, The overhead work is as substantial as the con-struction of the roadbed. The trolley, feed andspan wires were furnished by the John A. Each car is equipped with two 25 h. p. motors,manufactured by the Steel Motor Company, of York Bay at the foot of Thirty-ninth street. Thebuilding, the dimensions of which are 150X106feet, is of the standard construction of the BerlinIron Bridge Company, of East Berlin, Conn,Ample light and ventilation are provided by nu- ,merous large windows on all sides of the structure;in addition windows are built in the monitor roofextending the entire length of the building. The foundations for the building rest on pileswhich were cut off at the low water mark. On thepiling is a layerof concrete and on this the founda-tion for the machinery and buildings was built foundations for the building and machineryare separate so that the building will not beaffected by vibration from the machinery. The power equipment will consist of five cross-compound condensing engines of 750 H. p. each,built by the C. &
