The rebuilt Great Hall and Abbot´s Parlour of St Augustine´s Abbey. The foreground is the refectory area of the original abbey.
The Great Hall and Abbot´s Parlour were erected in the mid 19th Century on the footprints of previous structures and intended to be faithful to the originals. These buildings were part of the Missionary College consecrated in 1848. The college was badly damaged in a German Baedecker Raid on the night of 31 May 1942. The buildings have been used by the King´s School, Canterbury, since 1976.
