Villa Carpegna in the woods in Rome, Italy


he villa was built between the end of the seventeenth century and early eighteenth century by Cardinal Vicar Gaspar Carpegna which, modelled on the Villa Baldinotti-Yourk then belonging to his family, built a large farm operated with innovative systems, equipped with a residence refined, the Casino Nobile, with a cycle of frescoes of the painter Peter Francis Gas oils depicting views of Montefeltro. The villa is also retained valuable ancient sculptures, of which some pieces remain. The garden had a key role, both because its plant was organised throughout the villa for both valuable essences introduced. In the half century are renovated all the paintings Casino, with a sitting room painted Pompeian the environment and a trompe-l'oeil. The last phase is that important twentieth due to Baroness Catherine von Sheyns, which have other cycles painting and decorations outside.
