Rancho Fresnos and its passage from the San Pedro River basin in northern Sonora Mexico. It has the largest and most extensive native grasslands in the region, and areas of great importance for wildlife: 400 species of migratory birds, including raptors threatened in the country: the bald eagle and the golden eagle. Grasslands give shelter to a wide variety of species: 68 amphibians and reptiles, and at least 87 mammals, including white-tailed deer, bura, puma, wildcat, beaver, and the last prairie dog populations.
