A Army combat controller, 321st Special Tactics Squadron, Mildenhall, England, observes pilots of the 107th Fighter Squadron, 127th Operations Group out of Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich., during a training operation in an austere environment on June 8, 2018. The training, part of Saber Strike 18, allows pilots the opportunity to practice landing, take-off, and other maneuverability unique to the A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft they don’t get to practice in urban environments. The austere training operations took place in Estonia on an old soviet-era runway.
