Following a campaign by Luke Pollard MP, Plymouth's Firestone Bay has been declared as a Bathing Water Site. From May 2023 it will be regularly monitored by the Environmental Agency allowing swimmers to know they are in clean water. There are over 400 bathing waters sites across the country.
