A Scottish broadsword,circa 1650 Strong,double-edged blade with a short ricasso. The maker's name "Andrea Ferara" is stamped in the fullers on both sides along with a stylised Passau wolf mark. Lavishly perforated basket hilt with decorative grooves. Original grip covered with sharkskin(partly damaged). Conical,lightly facetted pommel. Length 97 cm.
