Looking WNW at the nave of St Peter's 7th-century chapel showing the position of the apse (chancel) & side chapels (porticus). Built of reused Roman materials on the W gateway of Othona Roman fort; Roman road visible rear L. It formed part of St Cedd's Anglo-Saxon monastery, served as a beacon-house in Tudor times, later as a barn and is now used as a chapel again by the Othona Community.
