This drawing is from The Life of Charles Dickens by John Forster, Vol II (1842-1852). The sketch is of The Palace of the Marchese Pallavicini, also known as the Palazzo Peschiere (because of its fishponds), in Genoa. The palace dated to the mid 1500s. It was in September 1844 in the midst of a raging storm that Dickens and his family moved from the Villa di Bella Vista to this palace.
