Guimar‹es is a pretty city and municipality located in northern Portugal, in the district of Braga in the Douro Valley. Its historic town centre, a well-preserved medieval centre, has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001. The Santos Passos Church is located at Largo de S‹o Gualtar, in the centre of the town. It was built by the architect Andre Soares in the 18th century. The style of the church is Baroque and there are two towers (built later in the 19th century), one on each side of the main door.
