A knightly sword, Southern Germany or Nothern Italy, end of the 15th century. Broad, tapering blade with a central ridge and fullers in the upper quarter on both sides, each bearing two brass-filled marks. Straight, iron quillons with spirally cut decoration. Original grip (wormy in places) with the original, partly damaged leather covering . Heavy spherical pommel with a chiselled scallop on the obverse side. Attached an old collection number.
