Medeah is a North African durmii wheat. The others are commonbread wheats. This new hybrid has been tested by the writer in thefield experiments of this department, and was found to be a vigoroussort. Among- Continental breeders probably the most important work withcereals has been done by AV. Kimpau. of Schlanstedt. not characterized by the use of composite methods. Rimpauswork shows a number of important examples of the results obtainedby crossing with parents from ditierent wheat groups. Some of themost interesting of the crosses showing various forms similar to theparents and intergrading as to form, color, are the following:Rivetts Bearded Spelt (poulard) X Red German Bearded.
