A German two-hand sword, 1st half of 17th century. Broad blade with blunt point (slightly damaged), the top quarter of the blade with flat fullers on both sides. The base etched with illegible date on one side "1 (?)24". The quillons with guard rings on both sides, terminating in split decorative spirals. Original grip covered with shagreen leather, slightly worm-damaged, plain ball pommel. The quillons and pommel with remains of tin-plating.
