Pitcher plant (Sarracenia x chelsonii). This plant secretes a scented liquid that attracts insects to it. Once on the rim of the plant the slippery secretion causes the insects to fall in, where they drown and are digested. Photographed in the RHS Wisley garden, UK, in June.
