Gaspar Manso's Cross, 17th-18th centuries. From Nosso Senhor do Cruzeiro Chapel (Ajuda, Lisbon). The name of the hermitage is due to a "cruzeiro" (cross) that would have been placed there by a vow that a sailor named Gaspar Manso would have made before embarking on a voyage. At the end of the 20th century it was housed in the Carmo Archaeological Museum. Lisbon, Portugal.
