The main branch, the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, of the The New York Public Library on Fifth Ave. is seen on Thursday, February 3, 2011. After three years the NYPL revealed the $50 million restoration of the facade. The white marble of the building was cleaned while over 7000 areas of facade where repaired. Sculptures and window frames also got the restoration treatment. The building was competed in 1911 and will get its 100th birthday party on May 23rd. (© Richard B. Levine)
