Whenthe district was set off as Chelsea and Lynn, in responseto a petition of citizens who were inconvenienced bytheir distance from town meetings, the boundaries be-tween Chelsea and Lynn were carelessly marked; oneline ran directly through the front door and the chim-ney of the Bennet house. This mistake, which causedannoyance and expense to those who occupied the house,was not corrected for more than one hundred Abijah Boardman asked that he be relievedof his double liability to Lynn and Chelsea, and in1803, by Act of the General Court, the petition wasgranted.
