Oklahoma Army National Guard members assist in distributing food, fuel and other supplies to communities affected by Hurricane Helene on Oct. 14, 2024. At the request of the North Carolina Department of Emergency Management and approved by Gov. Kevin Stitt, the Oklahoma National Guard activated one CH-47 Chinook and crew to assist in Hurricane Helene relief efforts. The crew, comprised of highly skilled pilots, flight engineers, and support personnel, work closely with federal, state, and local authorities to coordinate relief missions, and are expected to assist until the end of October 2024.
