Otter in Scotland COMICAL images show an otter eating a tiny octopus on the Isle of Mull, Scotland. Not satisfied with the common octopus in its mouth, the greedy otter was also attempting to catch a few pipe fish for its meal. Otters are largely solitary, semi-aquatic mammals that get most of their food from lochs, rivers or the sea. These images were taken by a British photographer, Graeme Cuerden (52) using a Nikon camera with a 400mm lens and a 2x teleconverter - a magnifying lens placed between the camera body and lens. ?I witnessed the otter diving from a distance away and then got myself in a concealed position behind some rocks,? he said. ?When the otter emerged with its recent catch, it had a small octopus in its mouth, flapping its little tentacles. ?I had been watching the shoreline for a number of hours before spotting the otter hunting. ?I was fascinated by the unique shots that I got with the octopus as this is a rare site that I have only seen once after photographing otters for many ENDs
