She isthe mother of ten children, all of whom areliving. Young Henry obtained his early edu-cation in the district schools near his Man-torville farm home. The school house wasbuilt of logs, and was the first one in DistiictNo. 25, Mantorville township. He then at-tended the Mantorville high school, fromwhich he graduated in 1886. This trainingwas supplemented by a course at Chicagoand at the State University of chose a teachers profession for his lifework, and taught his fii-st school at Argo,Brookings county, S. D.
