Twins, The Knier Brothers, 1924


Entitled: "John and Charles Knier, twin brothers, 14 years old, who raised vegetables valued at $500 on a city lot in Elmira, For their achievement, they won a trip to Washington from Department of Agriculture." Twins are two offspring produced by the same pregnancy. Twins can either be monozygotic (identical), meaning that they can develop from just one zygote that will then split and form two embryos, or dizygotic (fraternal), meaning that they can develop from two different eggs, each are fertilized by separate sperm cells.
