Nelson A. Rockefeller photographed in 1976 in Washington, , USA, during his term as the 41st Vice President of the United States (1974-77). He was appointed by fellow Republican President Gerald R. Ford after Ford replaced Richard Nixon who resigned the Presidency in 1974 following the Watergate scandal. Previously Rockefeller served as Governor of New York State from 1959–1973.
