In 1865 he grad-uated from the Medical Departmentof the Louisiana State locating in St. Louis in 1872,Dr. Martin laid the foundation forthe success he has since attainedhere by practicing in his native-State. Dr. Martin, since he located here28 years ago, has made rapid stridesin his chosen profession. He earlymade a specialty of skin diseases,and was so successful with thisbranch of his practice that he wasappointed Professor of Dermatologyof the Barnes Medical College of St. Louis, which position he still oc-cupies. Besides his professional work is a writer of ability. He is the editor of three maga-zines, namely, The St. Louis Medical. Era, The American Journal of Der-matology and Genito-Urinary Dis-eases, and The Dr. Martin devotes most of bis-time to his speciaRw, and throughit has built up a large and lucrativepractice. E. B. MAYEIELD. Eli Burton Mayfield was born nearPatton, Bollinger County, Mis-souri, Jutlusltj, 1861. He is the sonof Gr. AT. Mayfield and grandson ofStephen Mayfield, a Revolutionarysoldier.
