The PrimeMinister and Regents, on being consulted, recognised the fly as oneknown to the Muganda as the kivu, and said it was found along theshores of the lake. They were supplied with several dozen nets,killing bottles and boxes, and on their part promised to have thedistribution of this fly and of sleeping sickness worked out. Thebishops, missionaries, and Government officials also promised theirassistance. During June, July and August of last year some 460 collectionsof biting flies were sent in from all parts of Uganda. If the parcelcontained one or more tsetse flies, a red disc was stuck on a largemap over the locality from which the flies had been sent.
