Female Somali ostrich (Struthio molybdophanes)


This photo was taken in Samburu, Kenya, where both species of ostrich occur. Females can be separated by eye colour, which is blue-grey in the case of the Somali ostrich. This eye colour can be clearly seen in some shots in this sequence.
