Squacco Herons Avere not so numerous, though I didsee a few of tliese beautiful little birds ; and there was quitea goodly lunnl^er of Xiglit-herons and Glossy Ibis. Seebohms most graphic description of a somewhat similarnesting colony on tlie Danube came into my mind as I gazedon the animated scene before me. and I appreciated then, 308 Pictures of Bird Life more even than I had before, the truth and power of hisdescriptions.
