CLEVELAND OHIO "r^tT 5528 EUCLID AVKNUK Member F. T. D. ST. LOUIS. The Market. The cut flower market was in splen' did condition last week, from a buy- er's point of view, there being plenty of everything in season. The first few days in Lent made considerable dif- ference in business, especially with the west end florists, with whom society does its shopping. The springlike weather, however, caused quite a large demand downtown, where a big transi- ent trade is reported. In looking over the market we find quite an increase in production, as the consignors nearly all are coming into crop with roses and carnations, the prices being cut to nearly half those of the week previous. Roses are of excellent color, Killarney leading in quantity. There also are some fancy Beauties and plenty of the lower grades of these. Carnations are arriving in larger quantities. Enchantress varieties leading in quality and demand. Bulb- ous stock is in heavy supply, but not in great demand. Tulips, freesias, Dutch hyacinths and valley are in bet- ter demand than Eomans, Paper Whites and jonquils. Violets are abundant and sell as low as $2 per thousand. A large cut of fancy sweet peas has re- sulted in a fall in prices, the best Spencers being obtainable at $1 per hundred. The usual demand for greens was noted last week. Various Notes. The Retail Florists' Association held its regular meeting February 15, at the Washington hotel. The election of officers took place and resulted as fol- lows: President, Charles C.
