Amalfi, one of the most attractive towns on the Bay of Salerno, lies approximately 40 kilometers south-east of Naples. Like most towns on the Amalfi coast in lies at the mouth of steep-sided valley with many of its houses built on the valley sides. Among the many attractions in the town is the Renaissance cathedral said to hold the remains of St. Andrew. From the jetty boats can be caught for Capri.
