In some cases of green mosaic there is so much light green color in the leaf that it looks as though it is mottled with dark green. Mottling, com- monly called the mosaic pattern, may be found on the sheath and chaff as well as on the leaf blade. The disease causes a distinct stunting of plants in addition to mottling of the leaves.
