Dark olive-brown above, with darker spots or marblings and usually with 4 to G more or less distinct large transverse yellowish spots on the back; fins light, with dark spots, which may be disposed in transverse series ; caudal nsually with two regular blackish bars, or blackish at the base, with a large blackish blotch on each lobe.
