A 1930's sketch of statues of King Edward I and Queen Eleanor (of Castile in , Lincoln , England. King Edward nicknamed "Longshanks", because he was 6 feet 2 inches tall, is chiefly remembered for his battles against the Welsh and the Scot. In 1296 he brought the Stone of Scone to Westminster Abbey. It was returned to Edinburgh, Scotland in 1996. Aged 15, he married Eleanor (Leonor), daughter of Ferdinand III, King of Castile & Leon In October 1254
