Rua Augusta, Lisbon Portugal. A pair of young women setting up to take street portraits on a summer evening on Rua Augusta. The wide pedestrian shopping street in central Lisbon’s Baixa Pombalina is paved with traditional Portuguese cobblestones and lined with shops, restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops. The original street and area were destroyed by the 1755 earthquake and rebuilt using novel, at the time, anti-earthquake construction by the Marquês de Pombal.
