Derivation of name: Latin—lirata, earth or ridge formed by ploughing; refers to the ornamentation. Diagnosis: A subspecies of C. tenuipunctata in which the full 13 ridges of the superspecies C. tenuipunctata are developed; the ornamentation between the ridges varies from pitting to reticulation; a weak hinge ear is developed in the left valve. HoLOTYPE: lo 3890, a female left valve. Paratypes: Io 3891-95.
