The VAIGA (Value addition for Income Generation in Agriculture) international workshop and exhibition will be held at Kerala Agricultural University (KAU), Vellanikkara, from December 27. Organised with the objective of bridging the gap between farm producers and entrepreneurs, the five-day VAIGA festival will have international-level workshops and exhibitions. “VAIGA is a single-window programme for providing information and support on value-addition of farm produces for farmers and entrepreneurs. We want to turn farmers or farmer clusters as entrepreneurs instead of being mere producers. This will ensure a decent income by avoiding middlemen,” said Agriculture Minister Sunil Kumar.
