Alliance between Abraham and Abimelech, Symon Novelanus (attributed to), 1577 - 1627 print Abraham closes an alliance with King Abimelech. Abraham points him to a well that the servants of Abimelech have appropriated. On the left, a servant of Abraham sets seven lambs apart, as a gift for Abimelech. If Abimelech will accept the lambs, he thereby acknowledges that the well is the property of Abraham. At the bottom a reference in Latin to the Bible text in Gen. 21.
