An etched German morion, circa 1580 Skull forged in one piece with a high, corded comb, and surrounded with lining rivets on blossom-shaped brass washers. The brim has a corded and turned-under rim and is thickly set with decorative brass rivets. The entire exterior is covered with etchings of landsknechts and mythical creatures amid vine work. The inside of the helmet retains remnants of the original leather. Three holes on the back for attaching the plume socket. The comb is damaged with a riveted repair.
