HISTORY OF WThCHENDON. 167 piety, religion and morality is at an end in this place; and the town are ready,if required, to substantiate the foregoing reasons, by adverting to particulars,and making proof thereof. Voted that the committee should furnish Mr. Brownwith a copy of the foregoing. PROCEEDINGS OF THE COUNCIL. According to the proposals in the proceedings of the town, citedabove, a council was held in September. No copy of the result of thisbody is to be found in the Records, or in the papers in the custodyof the town clerk.
