Buellia subdisciformis lichen is found on rocks near the coast, here it is on an igneous rock slab. The thallus is crustose, cracked, white to light grey and usually delimited by a clearly visible black prothallus, especially in cases where several colonies form mosaics. The black spots are fruiting bodies. Photographed in Perros Guirec, north Brittany, France.
