At the time of theCivil war Mr. Glasmann responded to the call of the country for aid to crush out re-hellion in the south and went to the front with an Iowa regiment. He was wounded inthe battle of Antietam. His death occurred in Iowa when he was seventy-eight yearsof age and in his passing the community mourned the loss of one of its honored andrepresentative citizens. His son, William Glasmann, acquired his primary education in. AARON Y. He later engaged in the harness and saddlery business on his own ac-count and built up an extensive and profitable trade. Eventually he sold his intereststhere and removed to Laramie, Wyoming, where he likewise conducted a large andgrowing business. In 1880 he took up his abode in Salt Lake City, where he turned hisattention to the real estate, insurance and investment business, being associated withWilliam C. Lynch under the firm style of Lynch & Glasmann. While thus engaged heestablished a fine resort at Garfield Beach and there had a large herd of buffaloes.
