Dulwich Village Infant School, London, United Kingdom. Architect: Cazenove Architects, 2012. View of extension and walkway decki

The project extends the fourth classroom in the infants block and demolishes the small lean to extensions adjacent to the central hall. This allows direct level access out of the hall onto a sheltered area of decking. The development will creates a recognizable heart to the school and allows a clarity of circulation and hierarchy of spaces where there was before confusion. The form provides maximum natural light deep into the classroom, a dramatic interior space and a protruding reading window at the pupils level so they have legible views in and out.
