Gentlemen:— Replying to your inquiry re Prescott Valve Controller, which you sent us last spring to try out: I beg to say that we installed this machine early in April, just previous to start- ing the mills, selecting the most difficult valve we have to handle, the steam having to travel through nearly three hundred lineal feet of pipe to reach this valve, and noting the fact that the pipes are well covered, there is neces- sarily considerable condensation, and every sawyer knows the annoyance caused by water passing through the valves which violently jars or jerks the lever, sometimes wrenching it from the hand and thereby inflicting serious damage to the machinery of the mill.
